Katarina Milićević, an early stage researcher, completed her secondment from FBUB to ARGENIT on topic of ‘Standardization and benchmarking’.
During her secondment she was trained to perform patch clamp on cells in culture. Next,she worked on optimizing protocol for clamping microglial cells and recording currents of cells treated with immunoglobulin G isolated from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients’ or control subjects. Additionally, a part of her secondment was dedicated to optimization and standardization of protocols for isolation and purification of immunoglobulin G from patients’ sera. Finally, at the end of her secondment she gave a talk to the team in Istanbul on the results obtained during her stay.
