Bilal E. Kerman, an experienced researcher, completed his secondment from ARGENIT to FBUB on topic of ‘Standardization and benchmarking’.
The overarching goal of his secondment was standardization and benchmarking of data extraction from live-imaging files. During his secondment period, the team focused on Ca2+ imaging data of rat astrocyte cultures. The findings can be applied to other imaging data modalities as well. The planned automation of the analysis requires the use of a flexible analysis software. Thus, an ImageJ macro was developed to calculate and export the signal intensity values of the cells.
