Gizem Gürel, an early stage researcher, completed her secondment from YEDITEPE to ELVESYS on topic of ‘Pilot platform design’.
Gizem worked on the microfluidic chip design including fabrication of the chip as well as connecting the prototype to flow controller and testing the flow.
Her secondment started on February 03, 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, even though the first COVID-19 case was seen on February 14, 2020, the curfew was announced on March 16, 2020. Nevertheless, she managed to successfully complete her secondment. She returned to Turkey with the help of the Turkish government on April 23, 2020 and have stayed in quarantine for 14 days in a rural area.
